What Supervision at Humraahi is Like
Beginning a career as a therapist can feel both exciting and isolating, especially in private practice. This post introduces Humraahi's Peer Supervision Groups: collaborative, process-oriented spaces where early-career therapists can reflect on their work, explore clinical processes, and grow alongside a supportive community of peers.
At Humraahi, we understand that starting a career as a therapist, especially in private practice, can be a daunting and isolating process. Our in-house therapists have all experienced the great benefits of being a part of peer groups. It is with the intention of fostering support and facilitating co-development for early career therapists that we are delighted to launch our Peer Supervision Group.
Our Peer Supervision Group will focus on building a collaborative space with like-minded therapists who wish to experience a process-oriented peer group.
The peer supervision group will focus on facilitating therapists’ processes to better understand their experience in the room, offer space for case consultations, and offer insights into client, therapist and interpersonal processes that come up in the room. It offers an exciting opportunity to interact with different modalities of therapy, experience new therapeutic lenses, and invite insightful feedback into your work.
We aim to build a process-oriented collaborative space that rests on principles of curiosity, collaboration, and trust.
The peer supervision group is a non-hierarchical space consisting of six members (and facilitators) who meet weekly for eight weeks, taking turns to present cases and consult with the members.
Our focus will rest on better understanding the therapist’s internal process with the client- their experience and view of the client, their hopes about the work, and the lens they adopt - and offer insight based on the presented case. The space may also be used for thematic discussions that feel enriching for all group members.
